Nearly two years after the first cases of the novel coronavirus were spotted by doctors in Wuhan, most of the global economy has recovered from the COVID-induced recession of 2020. But the economic rebound is not uniform, and certain industries continue to struggle.


Case in point: The global tourism industry continues to lag as many tourists remain close to home. The Chinese tourism industry has been hurt by a ban on foreign tourism and periodic lockdowns and domestic travel restrictions.
